Regulation for The Use Restriction of Fish Oil as a Food Ingredient

Article 1

The regulation is prescribed in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 2 of Article 15-1 of the Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation.

 

Article 2

For use as a food ingredient, the fish oil shall comply with the following requirements:

1.    The fish oil shall be produced from edible fish.

2.    The daily intake of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) from fish oil shall not exceed 2 g.

 

Article 3

The daily intake of EPA and DHA from fish oil used in the formula food for certain disease shall not exceed 5 g.
