Sanitation Standard for Infant Foods

This Standard is prescribed in accordance with the provisions of Article 17 of the Act Governing Food Sanitation.
The infant foods referred in this standard shall mean infant formula, follow-up formula, and the supplementary infant foods manufactured primarily from the edible components of cereals and legumes, etc.
Total aerobic plate count of the infant foods shall not be more than 50,000 per gram.
Coliform group shall not be detected in the infant foods.
Enterobacter sakazakii (Cronobacter species) shall not be detected in powdered infant formula.
The infant foods shall not be adulterated with hormone, antibiotics, radioative substances, pesticides, aflatoxins, or other contaminants.
The use of food additives shall be in accordance with the regulations set in the Standards for Specification, Scope, Application and Limitation of Food Additives.
This Standard shall be implemented from the date of promulgation.
